Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your continued support with the ongoing Coronavirus concerns. I understand how confusing it is to hear Government advice whilst schools are instructed to remain open. As we currently have no confirmed cases, we continue to keep OVPA open. We are, however, ensuring everyone stays as safe as possible by following Government guidance.
Staff and children should stay at home if they are unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature to avoid spreading infection to others. Otherwise they should attend school or work as normal. Self-isolation has been stepped up from 7 to 14 days.
If staff or children become unwell on site with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature they will be sent home, along with siblings. All pregnant staff are now working from home.
If you have a vulnerable member of your family living in your household, you may choose to self-isolate to protect them. Please inform us at school so we can authorise the absence. All self-isolation is authorised.
We have cancelled all extra-curricular clubs from Wednesday 18 March to avoid pupils attending non-essential activities, as advised by the Government. Breakfast Club and Fireflies will still run to accommodate our working families that need wrap around child care.
All visitors to the school have been cancelled to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
I hope this helps to keep you informed but please speak with me if you are still worried. I am on one of the playgrounds every morning to help with questions and advice. You may also ring or email the office.
