Dear Parents & Carers
To support pupils that are currently not in school, we have prepared some home learning activities for the children. They are a mixture of learning opportunities that can be completed online and without electronic devices.
If you would like help with a proposed structure for the day, we have shared a timetable that reflects what we do in school. An effective way to manage the day and get the best from the children is to have a selection of learning time, active opportunities, breaks and down time. Providing routine and structure will help some children whilst at home and prepare them for when they return to school. Learning packs will be sent home with pupils who are in school tomorrow. If your child is at home, you are welcome to collect the pack from school between 11:00 – 12:00 and 14:30 – 15:30 on Thursday and Friday. For families in isolation, we will deliver your packs to your home.
As part of your learning pack you have the following information:
- Example timetable
- Non-screen activities
- Reading, spelling & times table practice
- Contact to Family Support Worker for all children whilst away from school
- Links to useful websites are listed on the school website news feed, our Facebook page and our Twitter page.
Tomorrow, I will publish a letter about the Government’s instruction to close schools by the end of the day on Friday. I will clarify how we will be supporting our vulnerable pupils and those with parents who are key workers.
Thank you for your continued understanding – you have been just brilliant under the difficult circumstances.
