Fireflies update

We celebrated Chinese New Year this week in Fireflies by making red paper lanterns and Chinese dragon puppets. We learnt they use the colour red as a symbol of good luck and to protect them from a mythical beast called the Nian.  As we have had no choice but to stay inside lately due to the weather, Fireflies have found a new love for board games! The children’s current favourite is Downfall, the strategic game gets them thinking and they love to compete against each other! We have also been busy making strawberry mice at Wednesday’s cooking club. The children made the delicious treats out of strawberries and chocolate buttons. Remember there is no Fireflies on the last day of term, Thursday 14th February.
