Thursday 9th April – update

Free School Meals During the Easter Period

The government have announced that they will fund free school meals over the Easter holidays. Ore Village Primary Academy is signing up to the government voucher scheme and will email voucher codes to all free school meal parents we have email addresses for.

The vouchers for the two week Easter holiday will be issued on Friday 17th April and then they will be issued weekly in arrears on Fridays.

You should already have received vouchers for the period 23 March – 3rd April. If you have not received your vouchers please email the address below with your child’s name and a contact number.

The vouchers are only for children who are in receipt of Free School Meals and does not include the ‘Universal infant free school meals’ provided automatically for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

If your circumstances have changed or you think you should be entitled to Free School Meals please contact us on using the email address below  with your child’s name and a contact number we can reach you on. We can check with East Sussex County Council Free School Meals team to see if you are eligible.

You will be sent a cheque number and validation code which can be redeemed on the Voucher Shop website for either Tesco or Morrisons. We will provide step by step instructions on how to do this. The voucher will be emailed to you. In order to use your voucher in the shop you will either need access to your email account on your phone, or be able to print the voucher. If you cannot do either of these the School Office can print your vouchers for you to come and collect.

The school does not require your bank details. If you get an email offering to support you and requesting your bank details this is a scam.

We are proud of the part we are playing in helping to combat COVID 19 by keeping the school open for the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils.  Please continue to play your part by following the Government’s advice to regularly wash your hands, stay at home and social distance.
