Christmas has entered the OVPA building! Keith, our wonderful Site Manager, has been Christmas decoration shopping this week, with our ever so artistic, Miss Grace. They have started working their magic in the school entrance with a super real tree. This is the start of a whole lot of glitter and sparkle as the school transforms in to a winter wonderland. Even our staff room got a Christmas make-over. We really do have the best staff at OVPA! Always thinking of others.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without some Christmas carols and tomorrow our amazing Year 5 & 6 choir are performing in The Big Sing at The White Rock theatre. It is not too late to buy tickets from the box office, if you’d like to come and support us. We have been practising hard and are ready to wow you with some Christmas classics and a few alternative numbers. Look out for the hippopotamuses and a bit of tricky body percussion! Good luck to all our children singing – we are already so proud of you and can’t wait to see you represent our wonderful school.
This week, I received a phone call from Old Hastings House asking if we would like to sing some carols to the residents. Another opportunity to share our beautiful singing voices and entertain some of the elder members of our community. If there are any other local nursing homes who would like a visit, we are raring to go, so please let us know.
Finally, it is our Christmas Fair this Friday 6 December, straight after school. There will not be a Funky Friday assembly so that the wonderful PTFA can set up ready for you. I’m really looking forward to doing a bit of face-painting! Please come along, it would be great to see you.
Hope everyone has a very happy Monday and a great start to December. Christmas is coming….
