An Egg-citing week in Year 1

We have had a very exciting week in Year 1! A creature laid a huge egg in the classrooms while we were at lunch on Monday. We wrote to the Natural History Museum and described the egg to see if they thought it might have been laid by a Dinosaur. The museum’s archaeologist wrote back confirming that it looked like a Dinosaur egg to her. We then discovered that some Dinosaurs had feathers and some had fur. We also found out how scientists had been working out what colours they were.

Today the eggs in the classrooms hatched. We didn’t get to see what was inside because whatever it was escaped from our classroom. It did leave footprints though and they look very much like the Iguanadon footprints recently found in Hastings!
